A status page is your unified window for communicating service status to users. This guide covers how to create a status page and configure its basic properties and display settings.

Create a status page

1

Navigate to status page management

In the Flashduty console left navigation, go to Status Pages and click Create Status Page.
2

Fill in basic information

Configure the following required fields:
FieldDescription
NameDisplay name for the status page, typically your company or product name
URL slugUnique identifier used to build the status page URL; only lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens are allowed
TypeChoose Public or Internal
3

Complete creation

Click Confirm to finish. After creation, you can continue configuring components, event templates, and subscriptions.

Status page types

TypeAccessSubscription methodUse case
PublicAccessible on the public internet without sign inEmail subscriptionFor customers and partners
InternalRequires Flashduty account sign inIM integration pushFor internal organization employees
Public status pages do not support IM subscriptions, and internal status pages do not support email subscriptions.

URL slug

The URL slug is the unique path segment in the status page URL. You can change it after creation, but slugs must be unique within the same account for the same page type. The system automatically converts names to a URL-safe format (lowercase, non-alphanumeric characters replaced with hyphens). You can also specify the slug manually.

Branding settings

You can customize the status page branding to match your corporate identity.

Custom domain

By default, status pages are accessed through a Flashduty-provided subdomain. To use your own domain (e.g., status.yourcompany.com), you can configure a custom domain.
1

Add a CNAME record

In your DNS provider, add a CNAME record for your target domain pointing to the Flashduty-provided status page address.
2

Configure the custom domain

Enter your custom domain in the status page settings. The system verifies domain uniqueness — the same domain cannot be used by multiple status pages.
Custom domains must be globally unique across the platform. If the domain is already in use by another status page, the system will reject the configuration.

Display settings

Event history view

The status page supports two modes for displaying event history:
View modeDescription
Calendar viewDisplays historical events in a calendar layout for reviewing service status on specific days
List viewLists historical events chronologically for quickly browsing recent events

Uptime display

You can control how component uptime statistics are displayed:
Display modeDescription
Chart and percentageShows both an uptime trend chart and percentage values
Chart onlyShows only the uptime trend chart
NoneHides uptime statistics entirely

Subscription settings

In the status page settings, you can enable or disable subscription features:
  • Public status pages: Support enabling email subscriptions. When enabled, visitors can subscribe to event updates via email on the status page.
  • Internal status pages: Support enabling IM subscriptions. When enabled, organization members can receive push notifications through their linked IM integrations.

Event template preference

You can set a default event template type for the status page, which will be used automatically when publishing events. Supported template types include:
  • Pre-defined templates: Complete event templates containing title, description, and status
  • Message templates: Templates with pre-set update messages for each event status
See Event templates for details.

Editing and deletion

You can edit the status page name, URL slug, branding settings, and display configuration at any time. Changing the URL slug will invalidate the previous access URL. Deleting a status page permanently removes all its components, events, and subscription data. This action cannot be undone.
